ABOUT US

Cholito began with a simple idea: the Andean kid bringing the flavours of Peru — and a few global favourites — to Australia. A kid who grew up between mountains, markets and family kitchens, where food was slow, generous and always shared. Where every recipe carried a story, and every fold of dough meant something.

That spirit is the heart of Cholito Empanadas.

Today, we are a team of four hand‑crafting empanadas using traditional Peruvian techniques, real ingredients and no UPFs (ultra‑processed foods). No industrial additives. No preservatives. No artificial fillers. Just honest cooking, slow preparation and flavours that respect where we come from.

Our menu features 15 flavours inspired by Afro‑Peruvian, Andean and Criollo heritage, alongside a small selection of global flavours that reflect the multicultural world we live in. Each empanada is 140g of colour, culture and craft — baked, never fried, and shaped by hand.

Cholito Empanadas has grown from a small market stall into a producer with a clear vision: to set a new benchmark for empanadas in Australia — a modern Peruvian brand built on tradition, powered by innovation, and developed to meet global standards in quality, consistency and scalability.

You’ll find us at some of Sydney’s most loved markets — Flour Mill (Summer Hill), Orange Grove (Leichhardt), Marrickville, Bowral Monthly Markets, Crown Street Mall Markets, and The Junction Markets in Bondi Junction. We also participate in several council‑run festivals throughout the year, bringing our empanadas to diverse communities across Greater Sydney.

These events have helped us share our story with thousands of customers and pass 250,000 handmade empanadas sold — each one folded by hand, each one carrying a piece of our heritage.

But at our core, we’re still that same Andean kid with a story to share. A story of heritage, migration, flavour and family. A story we’re proud to bring to Australia, one empanada at a time.
